The roof is one of the most important parts of a house. It protects the inside from outside elements such as rain, wind, and snow. If your roof is in bad shape it can cause major water damage to the inside of the building. This damage can be costly to fix and even cost you the whole house.
Most roofs are made from asphalt shingles. Most shingles will last around 15 years before they need to be replaced. Most roofs will last 20 years or more if they are properly maintained and repaired as needed. A roof can be defined as a covering for a house that is made of slanted pieces of material called shingles.
When one of the shingles on your roof is damaged you will start to see leaks through that spot in your ceiling. You can also tell if a shingle is loose because there will be a rise in the middle where it has come away from the nails holding it down. If multiple shingles are loose then once one begins to leak it will start to damage the surrounding shingles causing them to become loose.
